Simple installation — recommended for most users
Before starting, download the Smart Remotes ZIP from the NLD Download page and extract it on your PC.
- Connect the RC 2 to your PC using USB and open Internal shared storage
- Copy NLDFCC.apk and packageinstaller.apk from the extracted ZIP to the Download folder on the RC 2
- On the RC 2, swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the Settings icon in the top-right corner
- Open Storage → Music & Audio → Audio files. This opens the Android file manager
- Tap the menu icon in the top-left corner and select Downloads
- Tap packageinstaller.apk and install it
- After installation you will return to the Music & Audio screen. Tap Audio files again
- Open the menu, select Downloads, then tap NLDFCC.apk
- If Android warns about installing an unknown app, tap Continue, then Install
- When installation is complete, tap Open
Extended installation with launcher
The extended installation video below shows step by step how to install a launcher, the required helper files and NLD FCC.
For most users the simple installation above is the preferred and less intrusive option.
The helper files required for the extended installation are provided separately below.
