Compatibility

This license is for one drone only

NLD FCC is compatible with the supported drone models listed below. The license is tied to the drone model and is intended for standard phone/tablet based flight setups.

What can vary between drones, firmware versions and DJI flight app versions is the FCC activation method. Some setups can enable FCC Mode through the normal controller USB connection, while others require the direct USB-to-drone method.

If you are using a DJI remote controller with a built-in screen, such as DJI RC, DJI RC 2, DJI Smart Controller, RC Pro or RC Plus, you need the Smart RC license instead.

Known exception: the original DJI Mini / Mavic Mini is not supported due to hardware-specific differences.

How FCC Mode is applied

NLD FCC can enable FCC Mode on the supported drone models below, but the best connection method can depend on the drone, controller, DJI flight app version and firmware version.

The important part is that DJI Fly and other DJI flight apps may reset the aircraft back to CE Mode when the GPS home point is updated. For this reason, the home point should be updated before FCC Mode is enabled with NLD FCC.

Standard controller USB method

On many DJI drones, FCC Mode can be enabled through the normal USB connection between your Android device and the remote controller.

First open your DJI flight app, connect to the drone and wait until the GPS home point has been updated.

Then close the flight app, open NLD FCC, tap Enable FCC Mode, and return to your DJI flight app from the launcher or by opening it manually.

Direct USB-to-drone method

Some drones, DJI Fly versions or firmware versions may reset back to CE Mode when the flight app reconnects to the aircraft.

In those cases, keep the DJI flight app connected to the drone on your normal flight device until the GPS home point has been updated.

Then use a second Android device connected directly to the drone by USB-C, open NLD FCC and tap Enable FCC Mode.

Important: when using the direct USB-to-drone method, your main flight device can still be Android or iOS. The second Android device is only used to enable FCC Mode directly on the drone while the DJI flight app remains connected.
